This was stated by NK Mittal, Deputy Director, Haryana Food and Supplies Department, while addressing a seminar on “Indian Consumers in the New Age: A forward looking Agenda to Address the Concerns of the Common People’’ organised here recently. Haryana Food and Supplies Minister Mahender Pratap Singh who was to inaugurate the seminar could not do so owing to health reasons. The seminar was organised by CUTS International, an NGO, in collaboration with Citizen Awareness Group.
He said the state consumer helpline, which will be a toll-free helpline will be set up at the headquarters of the Haryana Food and Supplies Department, Chandigarh. The consumers from any part of the state can contact this helpline in case of any grievances. Trained staff of this helpline will not only guide the consumers properly for the redressal of their grievances but also educate them about their rights. The consumers will be able to lodge their complaints online, he added.
