Scholarships for MSc, BSc students

With a view to encouraging meritorious students towards science stream by giving them scholarships, the Department of Science and Technology has invited applications from those students who are enrolled in MSc (Previous) and BSc Honours (Ist year) in the subjects of physics, chemistry, mathematics, botany, zoology and geology in universities and colleges of Haryana for the academic session 2012-13 under the Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship Scheme.
A spokesman of the department said MSc students would be given a scholarship of Rs 6,000 per month plus contingency stipend of Rs 5,000 once in a year, whereas students of BSc (Honours) would be given a scholarship of Rs 4,000 per month plus contingency stipend of Rs 4,000 once in a year.
He said students with at least 60 per cent marks in their previous class were eligible for this scholarship. He said a subject-wise merit list of the candidates would be prepared as per the criterion laid down by the department.
He said application must be submitted to their head of institution or department concerned. The application form could be downloaded from the website www.dstharyana.org The last date for submission of the application form is October 19.
